In providing industrial mining services, we are the most adept erector of large strip mining machines in the world.

We have completed over 75 draglines operating at over 50 mines worldwide. In addition to our experience in erecting new draglines, we offer an unmatched capability in the relocation of draglines, having performed the majority of the dragline relocations in the U.S.

In addition to draglines, we are erector specialists for the entire range of bulk handling machines and equipment including around-the-pit and across-the-pit bucket wheel excavator systems. These complex bucket wheel excavator systems involve several interrelated machines, including the bucket wheel excavator, spreader, mobile transfer conveyors and shiftable conveyors. Further complimenting our capabilities is our expertise with loading shovels, stacker/reclaimer units, drills and haul trucks.

Through the years, we have also gained invaluable experience in major repair, overhaul and upgrade work under the tight schedule restraints that are typical in open-pit mining operations.

Installation & Erection of Walking Dragline

Produced in the 1970’s and having never been erected, this
machine was the oldest “new” dragline built in many years.  Several modifications and upgrades were made during its installation to bring it into the 21st century

Project involved:

  • Load out and transportation of stored dragline components from Ohio to Texas
  • Installation and erection of all structural, mechanical and electrical dragline components out of the box
  • Numerous Upgrades and Modifications
    • Reinforcements to the structure for strength
    • Modern control package
    • Reconditioned motors to meet the engineering needs for an increased Rated Suspended Load upgrade

IMC, CCC Group’s in-house fabrication and machining division, also assisted the project by satisfying various fabrication and machining needs.

With a total of 24,000 horsepower and able to collect 76 cubic yards per scoop, this new electric walking dragline, weighing in at 8,300,000 lbs., will be used to uncover enough lignite coal to power 30,000 homes a year.
